Designer Ben van Berkel

Ben van Berkel was born in Utrecht in 1957. After graduating in architecture from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Architectural Association in London 1987, in 1988 he and Caroline Bos founded the van Berkel & Bos Architectuurbureau in Amsterdam, followed a year later by the UNStudio design studio. UNStudio is one of the most renowned architectural offices in the Netherlands.

Its buildings and projects, such as the recently completed Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, always create a stir on the international architecture scene.
